FOUR REASONS TO VOTE (IN EVERY ELECTION!)

We've been getting a lot of questions over the past week about what we think might be in store for federally-funded anti-poverty programs such as Head Start under a new administration.
The truth is, we don't know for sure. However, if history has taught us anything, it is that Head Start has been able to survive and thrive for the past 51 years, through Republican and Democratic administrations alike, despite many attempts at budget cuts and public misinformation. Americans have always shown overwhelming support for programs that assist one of the most vulnerable populations of all... children.
But no matter what, we continue to believe that decisions are made by those who show up. So while many only show up for those "big" elections in presidential years, it's important to make your voice heard in EVERY election. That includes special elections for local issues, as well as for the national midterm elections in November 2018, in which many of us will elect our district and state representatives in Congress.
So mark your calendars now for the next time you'll be able to check that box, and don't forget to vote!
