The Four 'P's of 5G Network Visibility

The Four 'P's of 5G Network Visibility

In the second half of 2020, Palo Alto Networks commissioned HardenStance to undertake some research into the market in vertical industry use cases of 5G, as well as supporting security requirements and emerging security business models.

Arising from that research, Palo Alto Networks has published a Guest Blog of mine that discusses what HardenStance thinks of as the 'Four 'Ps' of 5G network visibility - visibility into Packets, Permissions, Perimeters and Partners. You can view the full blog here.

The Fourth 'P' I've identified is visibility into partners, which is even more top of mind in telecom sector circles now in light of the recent SolarWinds and Accellion attacks. If telcos want to aggressively grow the 5G network slicing business, they are going to have to take enterprise customer requirements into account when defining the level of visibility into the network slice that they allow. Moreover, they’re going to need to do that systematically as part of a standard commercial offer – not just for their largest, most important, customers.

There's a lot more to be said - and I go on to say it - right here.
