Four Points on How to Better Utilize Your Work Time
SUMMARY:
- Start by limiting the distractions throughout your day by just 20 minutes. This simple practice in return gives you a FULL 10-hour work or free day per month! Think about all the projects you've needed to get done but didn't have "enough time" to. Limit distractions and give yourself an extra 10 hours to complete the projects you've been meaning to work on. Be sure to give yourself a 10-minute break each hour to relax, recalibrate, and take a breather before getting back into deep focus.
- Critical focus on the task that you are performing buys you free time. When you dedicate your entire focus and attention to a deadline or a project, you will complete the task in a more efficient manner, and allow yourself to transition into your next task with greater ease. Once you lose the distractions and give full focus to your projects, you finish them faster and create more free time for other areas in your life.
- Discipline drives progress. You must have self-discipline in all your goals that move the needle forward. Nothing gets done without discipline. The only way to make progress is to have the discipline to sit down each day and focus. This creates the momentum you need to build progress in your business or projects.
- Only YOU control your life agenda—take back the wheel! Don’t allow yourself to be distracted by comparison, outsider expectations, or peer pressure. Focus on you and the quality of your work and you will, in turn, reap the benefits and rewards.

5 年Great points, Brendon! As someone who works from home, one of the best ways I've found to get super-focused is to set an appointment to co-work with someone else using Zoom or a virtual co-working site like Focusmate. You tell each other what you want to work on during the session, then you leave your camera on (you can turn the volume down if you want) while you each work on your prospective projects. At the end of the session, you report on your progress and sign off. It definitely cuts down on Facebook surfing, reading email, and trips to the kitchen for snacks!
