Four Pillars of Successful Networking

Whether you sell a product or deliver a service, at the end of the day we are dealing with people.  We are all busy so let’s deal with this subject in terms of how to best use out time in promoting our businesses.

Relationships

In the fast paced world of Real Estate I meet many people.  On one hand that may seem like the winning solution... but is it?  In fact, just the opposite is true. Genuinely getting to know someone and find out what makes them true takes a little effort, some follow up, more follow up, and genuine interest.  Do you take note of birthdays, the names of children, pets, or their favorite hobby?

Networking

How much more fun is it to network together as a team?  Play “Good/Cop Bad Cop,” learn each other’s elevator pitch, and follow up independently and together.  Working with partners is just much more fun, interesting, and powerful.

Social

Take time to enjoy those around you without the business buzz going on all the time.  Have a BBQ together. Share in the joys and sad times life throws all of us. We all have interests.  Share with one another and treat each other well on and off the field of work.

Community

What is the use of creating something bigger than each of us if there is no giving back to our communities.  Our success is built upon those around us. Give back in heart and spirit when opportunities present themselves.


Final Thoughts

Some people find it difficult to meet new people but use the best asset we all have… a friendly disposition, outstretched hand, and questions about the other person’s interest.  Have fun!
