Too often talent is lost for reasons that are within a company's control.
The loss in terms of time wasted, resources used to find the talent (possible retainers and HR / hiring manager interviewing etc) and value add of that lost talent is impossible to measure.
By ensuring you have these 4 "boxes" ticked will go a long way to preventing talent walking away ...
- Unmistakable clarity is essential in what you expect from the job applicant/candidate, ensure at least 5 critical must haves are evident (good guideline for shortlisting)
- Explain and elaborate on the role in terms of delivery of outcomes you require.
- Keep a candidate interested and engaged via COMMUNICATION which needs to be clear, consistent and regular. Candidates lose interest, and company perception is tainted when communication dwindles or is very irregular.
- Smooth onboarding sets the tone … ensure the employee can contribute from day 1. All tools required are available, (Desk, pc, phone etc…) and work is assigned.

9 年Valiant Nel .... It's a major problem as companies too often view fixed assets as their most important commodity, unfortunately it's not ... Its the people employed. Word spread fast especially in a niche market, too often resulting in talent mentioning companies to "stay away from" all for the very reasons mentioned. Those that get it right ... Secure great talent!
