Four Golden Reasons Why Creator Centric SaaS Marketplaces Will Thrive in The Years to Come

At first glance SaaS market place marketing might seem very tricky because of the need to attract both consumers and creators (businesses).

I'm here to say it DOESN'T have to be + 4 GOLDEN reasons why a creator focused SaaS marketplace will thrive in the years to come.

No, no I don't think it's as simple as a field of dreams ie "if you build it they will come".

It's a bit more complex than that BUT by focusing on creator quality the consumers will come. I personally like to think of the creators as a sales army completely incentivized to go out and tell people about their creation. It is not a secret that a good salesperson succeeds even more with the right training, mentor and tools at their disposal.

Yes, "some" marketing to acquire qualified consumers should be done... but I mean, that's just the right thing to do for the creators. After all, the creators are investing energy and time into onboarding products the least that can be done is some ad spend and PR to generate paying customers.

However, by supplying the creators with all of the necessary resources such as winning/proven marketing strategies, partnership introductions, fulfillment tools and relevant business courses is the ultimate marketing strategy. Again, thinking of each creator as a potential salesperson even if 1 out of 100 creators makes an impact this strategy will out scale any internal marketing efforts in a very short time.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention by focusing on helping the creators the bank of marketing content will grow tremendously. The constant education or success stories will be perfect re-purpose content to use for future new creator lead generation strategies.

If I were to build a SaaS marketplace today I would certainly focus on educating the creators by building something as well. I would put my money where my mouth is and be an open case study to show step by step on how to succeed using the marketplace.

Yes, of course I wouldn't forget about the consumers since they are spending the money... Just to "gloss" over it this is what I would do for them. Really good lifecycle marketing and audience insights is necessary for retention and advertising strategies. I'd also have a really strong consumer protection policy. I think companies really underestimate the power of things like consumer protection such as killer customer service and no question refunds.

Okay enough about the consumer side of it, because this article is about the CREATORS! In my career I have stumbled upon a lot of founders/entrepreneurs and many fear marketplaces for that chicken and egg problem, the double edged sword if you will. I once would have agreed with that fear but I actually think there's no better economy than our current US/Global economics to own, operate or help grow a SaaS marketplace.

Here's my four golden reasons why a creator focused SaaS marketplace will thrive in the years to come.

1. Creator economy is booming and showing no signs of slowing down - There are an estimated 50 million people contributing to the creator economy, as of 2023. At least 46.7 million creators actually consider themselves amateurs. 29% of U.S. children want to become a Youtuber/Vlogger when they grow up. The global creator economy is estimated to be worth?$104.2 billion

2. We are creating more... All arts are on the rise - Overall employment of craft and fine artists is projected to grow 6 percent from 2021 to 2031, about as fast as the average for all occupations.

The global arts market grew from $441.02 billion in 2022 to $579.52 billion in 2023 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 31.4%.

3. Books, Comics, Film and storytellers are just climbing and climbing - he global comic book market size was valued at USD 7.14 billion in 2021 and is expected to attain a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.5 % from 2022 to 2030.

- Grand View Research, Inc

The global books market size was valued at USD 138.35 billion in 2021 and is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 1.9% from 2022 to 2030.

4. Manufacturing is not slowing down - Revenue in Manufacturing is projected to amount to US$8.18tn in 2023. An annual growth rate of?0.18%?is expected (CAGR 2023-2025)

As the content creator economy rises and audiences are being built like never before the creators will need ways to monetize especially those in crafts, handmade, arts, books, comics and so on. Creating a "monetizable" marketplace where creators are taught how to turn their creations into a paycheck and expand their creator brand by tapping into new audiences across the marketplace is a perfect plug and play solution. So, maybe we could re-think the impossibility of the field of dreams, "if you build it, they will come". If you're thinking about shipping a SaaS marketplace you may want to HEAVILY INVEST in your creators success and everything else just might find it's way to you.
