Four F's Our Children Should Strive For

Four F's Our Children Should Strive For

While doing some research in the office I ran across the notes from a presentation I did for my daughters six grade class (She is now in her second year of college).

I told the students that I was going to talk about the four F's they should strive for in junior and senior high school and college.

I will NEVER forget the look on their teachers face when she heard me say that I was going to encourage her students to strive for F's,  she turned beet red and nearly fainted right on the spot.

'Do you want to hear about the four F's?' "Yes!" they screamed with a deafening roar.  Well, here there are:

Focus                     (It determines the quality of your life)

Flexibility              (The happiest people are those who can adapt)

Forgiveness          (Allows you to be forgiven)

Fun                        (Without it life is pointless)

"Not bad" said one student, "But I thought you were going to tell us that we should try to get an F in school classes".

'No' getting an F in a school class would actually be dumb, and all of you are really, really smart aren't you?'

"YES" mumbled most of the class.

By that point the teacher had regained her color & composure and reluctantly thanked me for coming in to do the presentation.

While she may have been completely embarrassed by the presentation at the time I am pleased to report that Kathryn has mastered every one of the four F's.

By contrast I would be well advised to review my notes more often...
