Four Common Situations Including Additional Fees During the Rendering Process
BOTTOMLINE STUDIO - Architecture Visualization
We Deliver top-tier photorealistic 3D Architectural & Product Visualization in collaboration with Architects & Designers
When working on a project, having an additional workload is practically a given. Events take place. However, if the workload is substantially more than anticipated, it makes sense for BOTTOMLINE STUDIO to charge more. BOTTOMLINE STUDIO is being particularly cautious in this round because, rather than seeing this as a goal, they see it as a fine line between clients (regular or new), a guarantee for workflow and production quality, and a show of respect for each and every 3D artist.
BOTTOMLINE STUDIO has provided two blogs on this subject, both offering a broad overview from different angles. In 2020, the first blog was published, outlining many situations where an additional fee is necessary and examining the overall issue. This year, the second one was posted, providing further context for the first. A more structured and meticulous categorization is developed, featuring measurable standards for additional fees in different scenarios. Every client receives equality as a result of this transparency, which also offers references in the event of a dispute. Here, case studies that are more polished and well-organized are provided as illustrations to aid with comprehension.
Situation A: Adjusting the Model
The worst part of any situation is undoubtedly the model repair that comes after rendering and postproduction. BOTTOMLINE STUDIO would like to clarify that modest adjustments made after rendering and postproduction are completely allowed and do not incur additional fees. However, BOTTOMLINE STUDIO must charge more if significant changes to the model are required, requiring the creation of a new image for rendering and postproduction.
Scenario B Camera Angle in Correction
Camera angles do matter. Prior to proceeding to the following step, please always double-check the camera angles. BOTTOMLINE STUDIO welcomes any corrections and suggestions. Our client must be aware, though, that if the camera angle is altered after rendering and postproduction, the entire image must be redone, meaning it must be rendered again and postproduced again.
In this instance, BOTTOMLINE STUDIO charged an extra 30% to 80% for each photograph. BOTTOMLINE STUDIO charges 100% in certain cases when replacing a brand-new picture.

Situation C: Attitude Adjustment using the same camera angle and model
The 3D artists at BOTTOMLINE STUDIO consistently adhere to the clients' confirmed mood. Changing the mood of a picture after it has been rendered with mood requires re-rendering the entire thing.
In this instance, there is a 60% per shot extra fee.
Scenario D: Modification in Design
This one is difficult. BOTTOMLINE STUDIO has faced two primary scenarios involving design modifications following rendering and postproduction in previous projects.
In the first scenario, which is somewhat mild, the client abruptly requests that certain aspects of the model be altered. BOTTOMLINE STUDIO charges between 50% and 80% per photograph because the main model, camera position, mood, and scenery all remain the same.
The other scenario is more complex: changes are being made to the plants and landscape. There's a lot of work to be done on the landscape, as it takes a long time. A fresh image needs to be created in this case.
BOTTOMLINE STUDIO costs an extra 50% to 100% for each image in this scenario.
These four situations are what cause additional costs to arise throughout the rendering process. Make sure to double-check and validate the camera angles, mood, model, and landscape for improved communication and a quicker project turnaround. Since there is an additional fee, particularly for modifications and corrections made after rendering and postproduction, it will be simpler for both sides.
