Four Aspects of AI in Hiring

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is significantly impacting talent sourcing and recruiting methods in several ways:

1.???Automation: AI can automate time-consuming and repetitive tasks such as screening, sourcing, and scheduling. This speeds up manual processes, allowing recruiters to focus on more valuable initiatives. AI tools can identify best-fit candidates through job-matching and scoring capabilities, score and rank candidates based on defined criteria, and automatically use chatbots and calendar integrations to coordinate interviews and other meetings. Many recruiters spend up to 30 hours per week sourcing resumes, and AI can significantly reduce this time [ 1 ]

2.???Personalization: AI can provide tailored content throughout the entire talent lifecycle. For candidates, this means personalized experiences with job recommendations and dynamic content based on their profile, search history, similar job openings, and relevant locations. AI offers employees the same personalization features, career pathing, learning, development opportunities, and referrals through an internal talent marketplace. AI nurtures a personalized pipeline for recruiters and hiring managers with matching skills and compatibility, making it easier to discover new qualified talent and rediscover previous quality candidates [ 1 ]

3.???Data Insights: AI can empower recruiters with the correct information to hire the best-fit talent faster. These insights enable recruiters to discover new job seekers, tap into cloud-sourced suggestions, understand candidate intent, observe pipeline trends, and view dynamic talent pools. This allows recruiters to spend more time with the top candidates, reducing an organization's hiring time and cost-per-hire metrics [ 1 ]

4.???Bias Control: AI can help reduce bias in the recruitment process, which is critical to an organization's commitment to diversity and inclusion. Candidate fit scoring ensures they're screened based on skill set and experience rather than a bias-based demographic. Video assessments with pre-set questions ensure all candidates are given a fair interview [ 1 ]

Regarding AI penetration, as of 2023, 88% of companies globally

use AI in some way for HR [ 1 ]

Some companies incorporating AI in recruiting include Amazon,

Hired, Phenom, Beamery, and HireVue. Amazon uses an Automated Applicant

Evaluation system to determine which job applicants possess the most potential

for success. Hired offers an AI platform that matches tech and sales talent

with top companies. Phenom uses AI to automate tasks and personalize job

searches. Beamery is an AI-powered talent management platform that leverages AI

to assist organizations in quickly identifying and prioritizing potential

candidates. HireVue offers video interviewing and recruiting automation

technology [ 2 ]

Despite the benefits, there are challenges in implementing AI

recruiting software. These include getting quality data to feed the system and

securing buy-in from users who might fear job automation [ 1 ]

However, the information found does not provide specific data on

how AI has changed the success rate of sourcing and recruiting talent, which

you may be interested in. Additional research would be needed to obtain this

information.

My repeat Talent Sourcing Bootcamp in September will include a full class on AI in Recruitment. Also, now it is seven days, up from six, by request of attendees. I have split the Google search class into two, dedicating a separate hour to X-Ray.
