Founding Day

We celebrated our founding day last week by volunteering at a food bank, donating food to those less fortunate. Henry, my co-founder, and I have celebrated by giving back to the community by volunteering. This year, we had our entire US team join us. We finished the day with a team lunch at Aquii, a Cal-Mex restaurant in Campbell, commemorating the day we started the company at this very restaurant after we deposited the first investor check of $25K. 

In reflecting on our journey, I get goosebumps. We faced various forks in the road we traveled. Anyone of the choices we made could have led us to a different outcome. Yet here we are - with the most collaborative team that I have been part of, serving customers in 4 continents, solving real-world problems, and delighting our customers along the way. I have no other way to reflect and rationalize this other than acknowledging that I am not the doer. My team was calling this “Founders’ Day,” and I felt it would be more appropriate that we call it “Founding Day” after all movements are about the cause and not the people who start it.

Have a lovely weekend, friends. Kobe’s passing is a reminder that life is short and unpredictable. Gratitude and love are essential elements for making our lives and those around us better.
