Empowering Neurodiversity: A Personal Journey
As the founder and event director of The Neurodiversity Show, I am thrilled to share the exciting evolution of our event from the Dyslexia and Dyscalculia Shows. This transformation into The Neurodiversity Show represents not only a broader focus but also a deeply personal mission for me.
My Journey with Dyslexia and Neurodiversity
My journey began with my own experiences of dyslexia. Growing up, I faced numerous challenges that were difficult to navigate in a world that often didn't understand or accommodate my differences. These experiences have made me acutely aware of the struggles that many neurodiverse individuals face daily. My dyslexia has profoundly shaped who I am, influencing my perspective on learning, working, and living.
It is this personal understanding that drives my passion for creating a platform that truly supports and empowers the neurodiverse community. I know first-hand the difference that understanding, support, and the right resources can make. This empathy fuels my commitment to expanding our event to include a wider spectrum of neurodiversity, including ADHD, dyspraxia and mental health challenges.
Why The Neurodiversity Show Matters
The Neurodiversity Show, scheduled for 21st-22nd March 2025 at the NEC in Birmingham, is a direct response to the evolving needs of our community. By uniting various aspects of neurodivergent differences under one roof, we aim to promote a more inclusive and supportive environment. This event will provide a comprehensive platform for showcasing innovations, sharing resources, and offering support tailored to a diverse audience.
Our goal is to create an event that not only addresses educational needs but also empowers parents, individual professionals and workplaces to better understand and support neurodivergent individuals. We are committed to driving systemic change towards a more inclusive society where neurodivergent individuals are supported to thrive

Ensuring the Sustainability of the Event
As we look to the future, ensuring the sustainability of The Neurodiversity Show is paramount. Over the past five years, developing the Dyslexia Show has been a journey filled with both triumphs and challenges. There have been moments when things didn’t go as planned, and I have made mistakes along the way. However, these experiences have been invaluable lessons that have shaped the vision for The Neurodiversity Show.
To sustain this event, we need the collective effort of our community. This includes securing resources, gaining support from sponsors, and fostering strong partnerships. Your involvement is crucial to help us maintain and grow this platform, ensuring it continues to make a meaningful impact.
A Call for Community Support
To ensure the success and growth of The Neurodiversity Show, I need the support of our community. Together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive platform that truly makes a difference. Over the coming weeks, I will share more details on how you can get involved and support this initiative. Your involvement is crucial, and together, we can create an event that empowers and inspires.
I invite you to join us on 21st-22nd March 2025 at the NEC in Birmingham for The Neurodiversity Show. This is more than just an event; it is a movement towards greater inclusion and support for neurodivergent individuals. Together, we can build a community that celebrates differences and empowers everyone to reach their full potential.
