Founder Changing Perceptions through Animation
Events like the1969 Stonewall Riots served a catalyst for the gay rights movement in the United States and abroad. June is LGBTQ+ Pride Month and we recognize the 1.4M entrepreneurs who take pride in themselves and their businesses daily.
I met with filmmaker @Barb Taylor, founder of Coyle Films, who launched her business to have more representation as a queer female artist.?Barbara, a wood sculptor, taught herself drawing and then decided to take animation courses. There she found herself surrounded by talent that lacked opportunities to tell their stories.?
Barb wanted to change the world through animation and give a voice to many who are marginalized in the industry. She bootstrapped and received funding from Canadian Media Fund, and Coyle Films was realized.
Listen to Barb Taylor talk about how her film company embraces diversity.
