Foundational Privacy Impact Assessment for O365
More people than ever before are relying on Office365 and Teams to be productive across devices, remote from their place of work. With a new daily record of 2.7 billion meeting minutes in a single day, people are turning to Microsoft Teams for productivity and collaboration. Security and Privacy remain top of mind for organizations as they rapidly transform the way they work and Microsoft’s longstanding commitment to trust in computing is more important than ever. Microsoft provides the controls, features and guidance to help organizations safeguard their data. Following upon the precedent-setting Foundational Privacy Impact Assessment for Office 365 published in February 2016, Microsoft Canada again commissioned Canadian Privacy Expert Michael Power and Valencia IIP Advisors to update the assessment for 2020. This new FPIA now includes Microsoft Teams as well as updates as a result to changes in Microsoft’s Online Services Terms, Data Protection Addendum as well as changes in Canadian legislation, including British Columbia. Microsoft’s Servicetrust portal remains your one stop for compliance documentation, audit reports, whitepapers and test results. John Hewie, Microsoft Canada’s Chief Security Officer, has curated a section of this site for Canadian specific compliance information where you can find the 2020 Foundational Privacy Impact Assessment for O365 https://aka.ms/stpCanada .
