Foundation Finds Strong Supporters Through BNI

When Kim Williams started in her role as Executive Director of the Indiana Parkinson Foundation, she was inundated with networking choices. As she navigated the options, she felt overwhelmed by large and impersonal groups and didn’t see the benefit these groups could provide.

“And then there was BNI,” Kim shared. “BNI opened up the opportunity for nonprofit organizations to join with their first year free. I joined and fell in love with my group. Northeast Network Connection is more like a family than a networking group.”

The Indiana Parkinson Foundation provides valuable programs and services for those with Parkinson’s disease and their families to improve their lives physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Christie Freeze works with Kim at the Indiana Parkinson Foundation and is part of the Circle City Connections online BNI group. She attests to the power of BNI for nonprofits.

“The outpouring of support, eagerness to learn what we offer and who we are and who we serve, has truly blown me away,” she expressed. “I know how powerful it is to have great people in your network, and we appreciate everything that BNI has done.”

Kim values how the Northeast Network Connection members jumped in to help the Indiana Parkinson’s Foundation. The group has participated in the foundation’s events, sponsored events, donated on Giving Tuesday, volunteered, and shared about the foundation with their personal networks. Chapter members host an annual purse bingo event, and the whole chapter showed up-- some wearing tutus-- to cheer participants in the Choose to Move fundraising race.

She concludes: “Whether you need a referral, personal connection, or help with a personal issue, your BNI group will come through. We get business done, and we take care of one another. BNI has been a blessing to me, the foundation, and the Parkinson’s community.”
