Foundation Faces: Isabel Gomes

Today kicks off a new monthly spotlight series to get to know some members of the Decentraland Foundation. Things are off to a strong start with Emote and Animation specialist and community-crowned queen, Isabel Gomes .

What is your role at the Decentraland Foundation?

I’m a 3D Animator at the Decentraland Foundation. Animating stages for a music festival or floats for parades, from NPCs to avatar locomotion and emotes, that’s all part of my job. And I might do some tutorials here and there too!

What's your favorite thing to do in DCL?

My favorite thing to do is going to events and parties with my Decentraland friends. I love dancing in the metaverse as much as I do IRL. I also love big events, like Fashion Week, Game Expo or Music Festival where there’s always plenty of experiences for me to explore (yeah, I’m an explorer gamer)!

What's your favorite Emote?

That’s a tough question for me to answer! It may change from time to time, but I think right now my favorite one would be the Love Grenade, I always have it equipped, along with the default Kiss. It’s not only super cute and fun, but it’s also a way to show some affection towards my metaverse friends. I’m always greeting people with the Love Grenade, I love all those hearts flying everywhere!

What inspires you to do your work each day?

I like to think that I bring life into Decentraland, I’m really passionate about animation! Creating animations that will make the world more lively and fun, or making emotes that will get the community excited about, this is what keeps me going. I’m always trying to bring new content and fun experiences with my animations and it’s very fulfilling seeing people enjoying them in world.
