Found My Birthday Crown

On April 25th at 3:16am, I celebrated my born day, a day filled with beauty, blessings, and another opportunity to revel in the abundance of life.

This has been such an incredibly transformative birth year for me both personally and professionally. Our family moved to Las Vegas to support my hubby, Pleas, in his senior executive promotion with Madison Square Garden (MSG). Our first move as a family with MSG was after 12 years in New York to Los Angeles in 2013 so he could open the Forum. In 2018, Pleas first started working on this "new vegas project" and throughout the years, he made his own career pivots ultimately deciding to return to MSG preparing us for our next family adventure. While centered on Pleas's personal journey, as his wife, friend, and confidante, I stood alongside him and while cheering him on, I also experienced my own significant personal growth. My growth stemmed from the move - leaving our beautiful home, close friends, my team and feeling slightly unstable. I was reminded that “home” truly resides where your loved ones are. No matter where you are or what your living situation may be, the essence of home lies in the presence of those you cherish and who cherish you in return. Home is really a feeling that you create for yourself.

As a Taurus, I believe deeply in stability and loyalty. The manifestation of these traits is deep gratitude for the things that I hold dear that can’t be found from an address or a physical location. Stability and loyalty are found through the people we love who give us joy, purpose, and something greater than ourselves.?

It was also a pivotal year in business for me, a true turning point as a Founder,? CEO, and as someone who has been blessed to expand my personal pillars – community, mentorship, education, and capital– fluidly through my company as a way to be of service to our community and support the future growth of fellow founders.?

As my birthday week started, the word FAVOR was placed on my heart and continues to be ever present. On Monday, Tierra and I were listening to Joel Osteen, who was delivering a message on favor.?

“Favor is the grace of God in our lives. In fact, the Old Testament often uses favor and grace interchangeably. The definition of grace is the unmerited favor of God, and favor means acceptance, goodwill, and preferential treatment.”

At that moment, we immediately started praying to thank God for the favor he had placed over our lives, the favor for abundance, unity, health, patience, and understanding as we made substantial moves as a family, favor for the pivots and changes in my business, favor for releasing a best selling book.?

We also asked for favor towards humanity, the healing of relationships - healing individually and healing as a human race.? Through it all, God has given me favor to navigate my own self-discovery, self-actualization, and self-healing.?

As I meditate on the significance of being able to wake up on my birthday healthy and thriving, I know every day I am blessed, I am favored, and I am truly thankful that I get to see another day doing what I love. Being with the people that I love, and I hope that every day you have the opportunity to think about the favor of God in your life.?
