In today’s rapidly evolving landscape, a commitment to continuous growth, learning, and personal development is necessary to foster an innovative and dynamic workforce. Throughout the year, our people participate in various learning and development opportunities to support their growth, strengthen their skills, and network with colleagues to drive success in their roles. Enable is a unique development program bringing together #EssilorLuxottica colleagues across the U.S. and business areas.

What were some of the biggest takeaways from the Enable Development Cohort? Recent FGX participants Courtney Redihan - Manager, Planning, Joan Macri - Senior Account Manager, and Nick Bidding - Regional Manager shared their experiences and advice to others looking to take ownership of their journeys within FGX International and EssilorLuxottica.


How have you been supported in your growth and development at FGX and EssilorLuxottica?

Courtney Redihan: I have always found that the leadership team prioritizes the development of all team members. My manager consistently provides feedback on my performance and regularly checks in on my plans to grow my career with EssilorLuxottica to ensure that I have the support needed to achieve my goals.

Joan Macri: My managers have had such an impact on my growth at FGX and EssilorLuxottica. They encouraged me to take on new challenges, pushed me outside of my comfort zone, and applauded me on my successes, which gave me the confidence to strive for more.

Nick Bidding: I have the privilege of being supported by my current manager and additional members of FGX.? This has allowed me to grow while taking on new initiatives outside my scope and expanding my knowledge of processes at FGX International and EssilorLuxottica.

What advice would you give to others looking to take on new challenges and grow in their role?

Courtney Redihan: Seek opportunities outside of the normal scope of the role that will allow them to gain exposure to other teams within both FGX and EssilorLuxottica. This is a great way to learn more about collaboration between departments and to better understand how the work we are doing impacts the greater organization.

Joan Macri: You are your biggest advocate. Push yourself to take on new responsibilities, speak up for yourself regarding the future of your career, and support your peers in their success. We have so much to learn from one another.

Nick Bidding: I recommend participating in one of the development cohorts and courses to anyone looking to improve their project management and presentation skills.
