Today we celebrated 13 years in business as a foster care placement and outpatient mental health provider serving over 1500 kids in North Carolina. It is a joy to see the progress we've made throughout the years and how we not only help people but we also serve our community with high esteem. So many businesses and people came out to support and we are truly grateful. We understand that time is valuable so thank you everyone.
We believe in the importance of investing in our foster families and support their entrepreneurial journeys in various capacities. We had Lil Bit's Italian Ice Truck which is owned by our pioneer parent Anita R. We have several parents and staff who have businesses and still offer their services to children in need.
What is Foster Parenting?
Foster parenting can be a very rewarding experience for those looking to provide a safe and loving home environment to children in need. There are a variety of reasons that many people turn to foster parenting, and while it can have its challenges, there are also many benefits that come with being a foster parent.
The Process
The process of becoming a foster parent varies from state to state, but there are generally certain steps one must take in order to be eligible. These steps include a home inspection, providing references for their character and behavior, becoming trained in CPR and first aid, attending foster parenting classes, and taking part in an interview and a background check. Once they are approved, the foster parents will receive monthly payments to help support the child and check-ins from their social worker.

The Reward
One of the most rewarding experiences of being a foster parent is the ability to positively impact a child’s life. The foster family gets to watch as a child that hasn’t experienced stable living conditions or grown up in a nurturing and secure environment learn to trust, open up, and develop new skills. Additionally, foster parents can help teach valuable life lessons that the child may not have had the opportunity to experience before. Most importantly, foster families provide a safe, loving home environment for a child who needs it the most.
The Service
The journey of foster parenting isn’t easy, however the support families can provide can be life-changing for the child. If foster parenting is something you are considering, it is important to remember that your love and support will be valued throughout the process.
