Fortune's Greatest Leaders
My wife, Jane Mosbacher Morris, was recently named one of the World’s 25 Greatest Leaders by Fortune Magazine. This is a tremendous honor for her and I couldn’t be prouder. She is part of a list that includes heads of state, humanitarians, and founders of some of the most successful companies in the world. Jane earned this recognition because of her dedication to supporting nontraditional manufacturers in the global supply chain, and especially for the way her company, To The Market, has responded to the COVID-19 global pandemic.
In March, when healthcare workers across the United States were facing shortages of personal protective equipment (PPE), Jane and her team quickly reached out to their manufacturing partners who immediately retooled their operations to produce much needed supplies including masks, scrubs and gowns. They already have orders for over 1.2 million units in the U.S. and hope to expand their distribution to other countries soon.
When not providing crisis support to the health care community, To The Market uses technology that helps retailers and brands connect with small and women-owned businesses – often in underserved communities – to source and manufacture products that are socially and environmentally responsible.
Jane is also the author of the book, Buy the Change You Want to See: Use Your Purchasing Power to Make the World a Better Place, that challenges us all to make more intentional decisions about our purchases and which businesses we support in our communities.
Fortune Magazine calls Jane a hero of the pandemic and I couldn’t agree more. Her courage and compassion are a daily inspiration to me. Congratulations, Jane!
