Fortune Flows for The Triumph Financial Team in Nicaragua

In addition to building a #cleanwater source for the community in Nicaragua, one of the essential aspects of the Triumph Financial team's time with #LivingWaterInternational is teaching health and hygiene to the community. Practices like regular handwashing and tooth brushing are critical to preventing diseases and maintaining health.

The TFIN team spent Wednesday morning with students at a local school, demonstrating how to wash their hands and brush their teeth properly. The team made it fun for the students by incorporating several crafts, games and pi?atas into the lessons! Afterward, the students used a Polaroid camera to take pictures of the TFIN team members and each other to keep as souvenirs of the memories they are making.

After lunch, the team split into two groups. The first group partnered with community volunteers to continue working on the well. They pulled PVC pipe, leveled the ground around the well site, and finished pouring the concrete. The team also conducted tests of the well and learned that the water was flowing at 31 gallons per minute. Living Water requires a minimum of 4 gallons per minute, proving that this well site is incredibly strong!

The team also learned that the local volunteers they worked alongside this week are just that - volunteers! "It was very sobering and humbling to consider what they were giving up to be here today," said Triumph Financial team leader Blaine.

The second group visited a local church where they shared Bible stories and worshiped alongside the community. Afterward, the women of the community demonstrated how they carry buckets of water from the well to their homes. After carrying buckets filled with water themselves, the team experienced firsthand the impact of their efforts and understood the value they created by making clean water more accessible in this community.

As their fortune continues to flow in Nicaragua, the team looks forward to completing the well pump and planting trees in the community on Thursday.
