Tonight, Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, President Bernadine Burnette celebrates her re-election to four more years as president and the inauguration of a council person and treasurer. Her speech alone would tell you why she is the absolute person in charge. DYNAMITE. She extolled the history and virtues of Fort McDowell Yavapai drawing applause for almost every line she spoke. President Burnette talked of the world class golf course and applauded council person Gerald Doka's golf game. Of course The President pointed out the new gaming facility that will open this summer. President Burnette talked about the gaming compact being negotiated and called on Speaker Russell Bowers, my seatmate Rep. John Kavanagh and me to see to it's passage.
