Forrest Gump and Life
Forrest Gump is a great movie because cynicism goes over the guy's head. Forrest experiences pain and loss, death and separation - and gets swept up into the big events going on around him just like you and I do- war, culture, racism, pandemic - but he also knows that you don't have to know everything, you just have to know what’s important to you: what you love and who you love. "I may not be a smart man, but I know what love is."
Life isn't safe and there is hardship. And when you stop and think about it, daring to love -anything or anyone- is daring to lose your love. And in one great scene after Forrest loses the love of his life, because she deserts him in the dead of night, he’s in so much pain he just starts running from his problems- literally. But in the end, he remembers his home and returns there and tends to it until she returns to him. (It’s funny Ryan Gosling does the same thing in The Notebook – take notes fellas!).
Home is where your heart is. Always remember your home and tend to it: It’s your people, your passions, and hopefully where you lay your head at night. That way good has a chance come into your life. I’ve come to know that your home isn’t just a building- it’s the base for your whole future, and it’s a place to share with the people you love. Think of me when you need help finding a home, and I’ll be here to help you find it. You make the call. Taking that next step: Stupid is as stupid does? or I think I'll go home now? #timetotalktopaul, Realtor.
