Fascinating days of entertainment and education available via the Formula Student event at Silverstone this coming weekend (20 and 21 July 2024). Big international entry as well as the best from the UK and stands from potential employers. Saturday features the acceleration runs and figure of 8 in the morning. It also features the sprint runs in the afternoon. Sunday features the running of the endurance event - and teams should have a bit more time to chat - especially once they have done their one attempt at completing endurance (only a few cars on track at once).
Find your tickets using this link and read page before you click onto buy tickets - there is a discount code available.
You will also be able to see the (late to pass) cars try to go through scrutineering and to get close to the teams of students and their cars. There are some wonderful creations this year - absolutely worth a look!!
A number of potential employers will be there looking for staff so, if you're looking, bring some highly polished CV's with you... That's best done Saturday.

I will be there so come find me and say hello if you want a chat. Ask the organisers where to find me if you can't find me, I'll be wandering around.
P.S. Don't know Formula Student. It is just the best engineering training formula on the planet (that's my opinion)... Students design and build their own race cars. They are smaller than other car categories (so you can't use them in open competitions) and larger than go karts. There are static events (design report and judging live, cost report and judging as well as a business presentation). Students effectively create a company to create a "track day" car. Rules are many and strict. Safety scrutineering is brutal. Dynamic events are acceleration (a drag race), skid pan (figure of 8 against the clock), a sprint (several attempts, fastest counts) and an endurance event with two drivers (long minimum driver change time). Amazing cars and great student atmosphere!. Absolutely worth a look!!

4 个月I have to agree with you Willem Toet as to the value of Formula Student. Enjoy the event cobber, and the same, to any Australian teams.
