Bridging the Gap between the Church and the Marketplace
"You shall not steal" (Ex 20:15). God has blessed human beings materially in order that they may provide for their own needs and those of others (2 Cor 9:8). We should show respect for the property of others and seek to use what he has given us in accordance with His revealed will [Read more].
There is a lot of theft happening today and Christians may [un]intentionally indulge in such blatant theft. Marketplace Christians are more likely to be exposed to modern forms of stealing. Have you ever committed fraud? You say, “No, of course not” but Fraud is stealing, lying, and breaking the law all in one.
All fraud is sinful and no one who?unrepentantly continues in it will enter into Heaven.?
Would anyone thank God for the treasures brought by dishonest gain? Don’t say to yourself, “well, this or that (manager, relative, etc) always rips me off.” You may think it's right, but it doesn't matter whether you think it's right or not. The Scriptures say: "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil;?that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" ?(Isaiah. 5:20). God has nothing to do with evil. Scams and frauds are caused by a love of money and a lack of trust in God. Rather than trying to make a quick buck that brings a curse to our life, let's earn little by little with hard work (Proverbs 20:17). Christians should never live like this sinful world but should live a life of integrity. Ephesians 4:28?Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.
