The whole BeAM TeAM has now returned home from Formnext where BeAM needed no less than 300m2 together with AddUp to exhibit 4 machines and over 15 use cases from customers.

In 2015, we were already there. With the idea to introduce our technology for the first time in Germany. This "new, small German exhibition" seemed like a good opportunity. We booked just 9m2 on the start-up area, 4 weeks prior to the event and arrived with a couple of basic demo parts and brochures!

203 exhibitors and 8900 visitors in 2015. 852 exhibitors and 34500 visitors in 2019. The AM industry is booming and Formnext‘s growth reflects this dynamic market... and the success of companies like BeAM.

In 2015, we were a 10-people spin-off, based in a basement in Strasbourg - France, our first machines were still in the design phase, we had just received our very first order from Safran. BeAM is now an industrial SME, with over 60 people based in Strasbourg, Cincinnati and Singapore. We built over 30 machines that are installed in more than 10 countries!

We still have a lot of work to do to further expand the Directed Energy Deposition as a complementary technology to Powder-Bed Fusion. We are very thankful to our customers, as they always engage into a partnership with us to accelerate the industry adoption. Our latest example - and a personal pride - is the acquisition of a Modulo 400 by the NLR, whose AM program members visited us at Formnext.
