Formidable Change

I turned on the TV & heard the news

I must say I was bemused

To hear the Steel Industry is fading away

Port Talbots heritage taken away

Communitys built upon this trade

Familys lives and dreams all in the shade

The government not doing enough

To rescue homemade British stuff

A wealth of history from 1967

15,000 jobs and construction heaven

The quality the craftsmanship

The passion & the care

You won’t get the same standard anywhere

Prices driven down by energy prices & cheap market imports

Making it difficult for us to Export & compete

Falling prices ensuring further damage & stirring up the heat

Quality like cream always rises to the top

We just need someone in authority to make it all stop

Invest in our Steel Manufacturing plants

Save our industry please give them a chance

The lasting impacts will spread far and wide

Hurting our livelihoods and stealing our pride

We need to elevate this plight that we have

Rescue our Steel Industry

Keep the UK great

Don’t ignore this plight and leave the decision to fate

Tata Steel needs to make a deal and do so with honour

Remembering their social responsibilities

These meetings hold the key to saving our industry

Facing this formidable change head on with unity and pride

With hope & an element of luck on our side.

Let’s keep this industry in our lands and revive that excellent brand

A rescue bid is what’s required with sound investment and long term vision

Now that would be a worthwhile mission.
