Former SVP Dallas Investee Dallas Afterschool Receives $1 Million Award

Dallas Afterschool , a nonprofit committed to enhancing out-of-school time for children in Dallas County, has been awarded a generous $1 million grant from MacKenzie Scott's Yield Giving Open Call.
Dallas Afterschool has been instrumental in improving the quality and accessibility of after-school programs in Dallas County. They are one of only 250 organizations selected for the $1 million award out of 6,535 applicants.

The organization was founded by SVP Dallas Partner Janet Mockovciak with Suzanne Kiefer .
Janet's journey with Dallas Afterschool began during an SVP Dallas Project at Wilkinson Center, where she recognized the pressing need for support for out-of-school providers. That vision laid the foundation for Dallas Afterschool.
Since then, many SVP Dallas Partners have dedicated their time and expertise to furthering the organization's mission, including two Partners who served as Dallas Afterschool CEOs: Tanya McDonald and Christina Hanger .?
Additionally, three SVP Dallas Partners—Janet, Terry Conner , and Kristi Erickson —have provided invaluable leadership to Dallas Afterschool as Board Chairs, alongside numerous other Partners who have served on the board.?
Dallas Afterschool was an SVP Dallas Investee for three years.
Through advocacy, resource coordination, and workforce development initiatives, Dallas Afterschool is empowering our youth and shaping the next generation.?
This exciting award is a reminder that together we can continue to amplify the impact of organizations like Dallas Afterschool and build a brighter future for Dallas.
