Police responded to a call made at 9:59pm and exchanged gunfire with the suspect, Sergeant Anna Gray of the Evansville Police Department said: ?“'He would shoot at officers and move. He was all throughout the store.”?The victim, who has not been identified, was alive when officers arrived. She was taken to one hospital and later flown to another, according to police.??Her condition was unknown Friday morning.

Minutes later, Evansville Police Department tweeted that the threat had been 'neutralized' and was in custody.?No officers were injured during the shootout.?Sgt Gray confirmed the suspect was killed by police after firing back at the authorities 'multiple times'. She added: 'We have been trained that if there's an active threat, we go in – we don't pause, we don't take time to try to figure out what's going on.??We go in and we go where the shots are being fired.”?The ex-employee identified Friday morning ?as Ronald Mosley II, “probably had some sort of relationship with the victim in terms of being a co-worker,” according to Evansville police Officer Taylor Merriss said on Friday.

The victim, a female Walmart employee, who has not been identified, was alive when officers arrived. She was taken to one hospital and later flown to another, according to police.??Her condition was unknown Friday morning.

Walmart said it would be supporting its employees in the wake of the shooting, and it thanked first responders. "The entire Walmart family is shocked by the senseless violence that occurred at our Evansville store, and our hearts are with our associate at this time," the company said.?The shooting in Evansville occurred nearly two months after a man killed and wounded at least a half-dozen others at a Walmart in Virginia.
