New statistics reveal that almost three Victorians suffer forklift accidents in the workplace every week, resulting in alarming injuries.
According to the WorkSafe website, there are more incidents of worker injuries and fatalities involving forklifts than any other kind of equipment used at work.
During the past four years, eight workers have lost their lives as a result of forklift accidents in Victoria.
The most common incidents were pedestrians being struck by lifting equipment, but also included forklifts tipped over by their own weight, and falling loads.
