The Forgotten Voices of Children in Prisons
Every November 20th, the world comes together to celebrate the rights, dreams, and potential of children. But amidst the joyous celebrations, there’s a group of silent, forgotten children, those aged 0-4, growing up behind prison walls with their mothers. Innocent and unknowing, they endure a life confined, paying a price for circumstances they did not create.
These children are born into an environment that stifles their potential. They miss out on the basics of childhood, proper nutrition, healthcare, and early education. All essential for their physical and emotional development. Too often, they are seen as mere extensions of their incarcerated mothers, rather than individuals with their own rights and dreams.
World Children’s Day is a time to shine a light on these invisible lives and demand justice for the voiceless. No child should be left behind in the shadows. It is our collective responsibility to push for policies and interventions that prioritize their well-being, from providing child-friendly prison facilities to ensuring their successful reintegration into society.
Today, let us remember these forgotten children. Let’s take action. Advocate. Speak up. Together, we can create a world where every child, no matter their circumstances, has the opportunity to thrive.

2 个月It's really traumatizing to this young ones and the unfortunate thing is that if this is not taken care of early enough, this children live with this early childhood traumatic events even in their adulthood. Oh how I pray that a policy to take care of this can be set and with haste since many are suffering.
