The FORGOTTEN ONES
Please don’t let them become
""""""""""" THE FORGOTTEN ONE`S """""""""
Hi, I would just like to say I am as guilty as the next person for letting this happen and want to put the record straight by saying
“I AM SO SORRY"
Over the last few years much has been said about research, a cure, early diagnosis and early onset of Dementia, please, don’t get me wrong, its needed to be and still does, but are we forgetting something??
What about all those with dementia in late stages? What about THEIR loved ones and THEIR families? What about those, even though not in very late stages, yet it has been decided that dementia medicines are of no use any longer and spend their days in care homes (There are far more than we even dare think)
I am strong enough to know that a possible cure is too far away for me as it will need testing, licencing etc, etc which takes years, far more years than I probably have, but what about those who are in late stages, clinging onto whatever hope they can muster during their “lucid “ moments, and having none when they cant. What about their loved ones who sit there day after day through this living hell knowing no matter what they read, or here about on the news or TV, its to late for them,
WHAT ABOUT THEM ?
PLEASE Don’t let ALL these people become the
“”FORGOTTEN ONES””
I am going to be very honest here and say I am writing this because someone, and quite rightly so, asked me the very same question after I wrote one of my latest blogs on living in hope. It really pricked my conscience and they were absolutely right to do so.
So please, when you are campaigning for cures, funding and the likes please spare a thought for those who are too late to benefit from these campaigns and ask yourself
Who? IS LOOKING AFTER THOSE
WHO ARE LOOKING AFTER THOSE IN LATE STAGES ??????
Hopefully we can TOGETHER Make a Difference
