Forgiveness

Forgiveness

“But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” - Matthew 6:15

I tried but couldn’t. I said I would but didn’t. I found it too hard to be forgiving. Too much anger so much pain I just don’t know how much more I can stand. How do you forgive the unforgivable? It’s inconceivable. How do you accept the unacceptable? Forgiveness seems unthinkable.

Forgiveness is the greatest gift one human being can give to another. It’s God’s precious gift to all of us for without it we could never attain salvation. It’s not given easily, it takes time and prayer to forgive. Forgiveness is a conscious decision, un-forgiveness is self imprisonment trapping you in unpleasant memories.

Forgiveness begins with you. Only then can the healing begin. It’s a difficult road to travel, a painful journey out of a terrible situation. To forgive that person who stole your joy takes strength and God’s grace to move on.

You said you forgave sometime ago yet in your heart that never occurred. It takes time, I know but you must forgive to be forgiven said the Lord. God forgave your sins after you repented. If God can forgive you how can you not forgive those who hurt you? Forgiveness is something that helps you grow into that person you never knew you could become.

The only way to heal the soul is to turn it over to the Lord. Don’t carry that heavy burden around anymore. Give it to God and he’ll give you peace of mind. Waddling in anger and revenge allows hate to festers, getting more intense over time. Bitterness – get rid of it. Whatever the situation consider it a learning experience.

Forgiveness starts with prayer. Let the healing begin starting from within. Let go – let God – free yourself. Only forgiveness can do that.

“Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:” - Luke 6:37
