In 2010, faced with a formidable career challenge upon relocating to Florida at the age of sixty-six, I embarked on a journey of reinvention while supporting my wife, Angela, grappling with End-stage renal disease as a Medical Assistant. Together, we founded The Advocates for the Medical Assisting Profession on LinkedIn in 2013, leading to the creation of the impactful Inside Medical Assisting podcast.
In my newfound role as a LinkedIn podcaster, I confronted the daunting task of creating an identity and reaching out to influencers, overcoming the fear of rejection and obscurity. Amidst this process, a profound revelation emerged – a solution to the intricate challenges of employment. I pioneered the "Reverse Employment Method" or "The Art of Creating Employment," a transformative approach with the potential to revolutionize the employment landscape.
Ultimately, I learned the power of interpersonal communications and relationships, finding common ground with others, and, most importantly, being sincerely interested in others. This invaluable lesson has been the cornerstone of my journey, emphasizing that genuine connections and a sincere understanding of others can profoundly impact one's personal and professional growth. Reflecting on what I aspire to become, I envision helping people navigate their career transitions and assisting students in securing employment before graduating, providing a deeper sense of purpose at the ripe age of 78. My mission is to guide them in finding their next step and becoming who they aspire to be, understanding that the way you invest your time and the individuals you connect yourself with on LinkedIn shape the person you become.
