Forget about statistics and follow your personal path

When we read about articles, analyses, trends or even self teaching methods, about what is useful in our professional and personal life, everyone and everything has a number to give us, about the average results of studies, that show or indicate a certain behaviour, or what is the consequence and the impact of the decisions for certain ages from the youth to the older ones.
For instance, we have read and seen manytimes, what you should do in order to succed under 30, which are the monuments and the trips you should have seen before 40, or which career step you should have accomplished before 50.
The above conclusions, in some cases, may seem right and have many fans and readers trying to perform exactly what a book, a research, an article or a documentary says, but in the majority of cases, all the famous quotes are far beyond the reality and the truth, that everybody has in his heart and in his everyday life.
Making the root cause analysis and without trying to impose just mentality issues in our writing, we could say, that every human personality scientifically is unique and is differently affected by various factors of the environment in which someone is living or has experienced for many years.
The pressure that many influencers, businessmen or life coaches pose in the activity that someone has to perform based on his age, is like demolishing the nature of a human being per se, since the passion for life, the learning methods and the evolution of everyone is endless and is not to be trapped in a certain age, implying that if you re not performing well or you are deviating, in terms of career development, personal experiences, new discoveries and all this staff that from time to time is written in thousands of article and books, you are a complete failure and you should revise your life and your way of behaving.
Nevertheless, nothing from the above statemens is true, since every person apart from his age, has a different mentality and consists of various capabilities of performing things, that are adjusted to the society and to social environment at a different pace, according to the targets set and the conditions that happen to be, at the timing of an implementation or of a great desire.
Nobody can predict the future and restrict his views in a certain age. This of course should not be translated as a lack of vision, or lack of setting certain and demanding goals. In the contrary, the goals we are setting, should be in line with our opportunities, our environment and our complete and differentiated idiosyncracy, in order to be be effective and not only to succeed, but finally to be happy in our life, first of all with ourselves and secondly with our relatives, siblings and close friends that we trust.
In order to conclude we could say, that there are no magical recipes in life, for the ultimate success or happiness in three, five or hundred steps. The only thing you need, is to deeply feel your inner self, what you really want, what are you made of and according to the society that you live and the technology you are capable of using, to build your dream for your own future, no matter if we are talking about a successful carreer or a personal development towards common values that promote evolution and solidarity in our modern world.

5 年Well said. But sometimes major incidents in our life remind us that when in peace different perspectives and milestones seem bright than in war when things obtain another meaning. My personal story taught me to be openminded and grateful of each single day and try to adjust priorities. But most of all to give people around me a second chance.
