Forget Resolutions: Start 2025 With a Word That Changes Everything

As the clock ticks closer to 2025, many are already crafting long lists of New Year's intentions: lose weight, get fit, read 50 books, be more balanced... You know the drill.
But let’s be honest: how many of those intentions have ever made it past February? (I’ll wait.)
Here’s the thing—intentions often feel like pressure. Like tasks sitting on your shoulder whispering, “You’re not doing enough.”
That’s why, for years, I’ve ditched resolutions and embraced a Word of the Year. It’s not a checklist. It’s a compass. A guiding light to help you align with your goals, make clearer decisions, and—most importantly—feel grounded as life unfolds.
Why a Word of the Year Works
Instead of chasing perfection, a focus word provides: ? Direction without pressure. It simplifies your priorities. ? Clarity in chaos. You always know where to re-center yourself. ? Consistency. One word can fuel all your daily actions.
For example, my word last year was [insert your word, if relevant]. It wasn’t about achieving everything all at once. It was about checking in with myself daily and asking: “Does this align with where I want to go?”
How to Find Your Word of the Year
I’ve set my word every year using the Susannah Conway Method—a beautiful process of reflection and intention-setting that helps you unravel what truly matters. I highly recommend it. You can find her method here.
But if you’re craving an even deeper start to 2025...
