~~FORGET RESOLUTIONS-- COMMIT TO YOUR VISION~~
It's New Years Day.. Day 1. Over the past month you have heard about goals, resolutions... all the masters of goal setting have spoken to tell you how to do it... but.. they all leave out one major thing. VISION. YOUR VISION FOR YOURSELF.
I have been on the topic of vision for a few months now lately-- because it is the sole principle I live by. When you focus on the vision for yourself, for your life, for everything in your life... you begin to manifest... and your actions will then align.
This worked for me again the other night! I have been following a great band for years-- OAR-- they were my go to band after almost every home game in the Bronx-- their music tells great stories and definitely helped me to chill and unwind after a stressful day at Yankee Stadium.
Whats my point? The point is-- I saw they were playing near my training facility, I sent them an invite to come train with me.. and boom! We had an awesome training session together-- and these boys could work!
So-- my vision after years of watching them play-- was to meet these guys and let them know how much I appreciate their music.. and that vision came true.
It was not about writing my goals and hanging them on a mirror, or saying them 100 times each day.. it was simple creating a VISION FILE in my head.. much like I have done with almost everything I do.. and boom.. magic happens.
Now do I write my objectives for the year-- YES-- but I do not put pressure on myself each day...because I know pressure kills instinct..
I simple re-affirm what I am looking to do, what I want, where I want to live, who I want to work with, be with, hang with... and I truly believe-- 100%..all of those things will come true! Sounds kind of voo doo.. but it definitely works.
As I said a few blogs ago-- if you want to lose weight-- start with vision of seeing yourself in your mind how you want to look.. everyday.. visualize it.. and your actions will take shape. Mentality leads to physicality. The key is don't pressurize it.. energy can't flow with pressure.
So-- with the start of 2017-- write down a few VISIONS of and for yourself.. and begin to understand WHY those are your visions... and then begin to walk towards them... 365 days of walking towards your vision? You can probably get something accomplished in 365.
I feel resolutions and commercialized GOAL SETTING around a specific date or time rarely works-- for example-- there have been years that I was not ready to set a goal by January 1st-- and if I did-- I would fail-- and then I would begin to feel like a failure-- which is not cool..
If you are ready mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally to set a clear vision for 2017... do it.. and your vision could be as simple as "drinking 8 glasses of water per day"... which will lead to a host of benefits.. but keep it simple. Simple vision leads to achievements.
I always loved the saying-- it took 20 years to become and overnight success because it is so true!
It takes a long time for our mindset and habits to change and align... and what I have found that is #1 is:
SOMETIMES IT COULD TAKE US 10 YEARS JUST TO FIGURE OUT WHO WE ARE.. AND WHAT WE REALLY ENJOY AND WANT TO BE... don't rush the process.. use vision to guide you.
