When God was naming all his plants

He had to give a second glance

He could hear a gentle voice call out

"Forget-me-not, oh Lord" said a tiny flower

God replied

"That will be your name from this hour and you will wear a shade of blue - so others will remember you"

Happy with the new found name

The lovely plant gained great acclaim

Spiralling curves of inflorescence

A flower worn with pride

To remember loved ones lost in wars from past and present times

A sign of faithfulness and enduring love

Dating back in history

Worn by those in medieval times

Who wanted to remain in their lovers hearts and minds

Also known as Scorpion grass 

It's beauty is world class

A tiny flower with real star power 

Sentiments of love shining through 

Adored by those that admire this delicate bloom of blue xx
