Forget the Basics: 10 Wildly Effective Mindset Tips for Entrepreneurs [Part 1]
Dear entrepreneurs, It’s the little things tripping you up — let’s tackle them head-on!
1. The moment you get stuck in the overthinking loop, move your body!
As simple as this sounds, if you often get stuck in an overthinking loop, quickly move your body and perform any mundane activity like cutting a fruit, tidying up your workspace, folding sheets, etc. By the time you complete the task, you’ll often find your mind has shifted away from the loop.
2. Getting out of bed to begin your day will be a struggle, accept it!
Flexibility is one of the perks of entrepreneurship, but it also invites lethargy. Learn to use the 5-second rule — count backward from five (5..4..3..2..1) and quickly get up before your mind presses the snooze button. This simple technique can help you overcome the inertia of getting started for any task. Watch this for more clarity.
3. We all carry more limiting beliefs than we know. Keep them in check!
“My product or service will take this much time to fly off”, “I wouldn’t be able to generate profits for the first few months”, “Entrepreneurship is hard” are some of the limiting beliefs we carry with us unconsciously. Keep revisiting them to know if any of these are tagging along without your consent and holding you back.
4. Something you are not good at? Hire a person to do it!
Don’t waste energy on tasks that aren’t in your wheelhouse. As unrealistic as it may sound, but if there is something you are not good at and is constantly becoming an obstacle, just hire someone to do it for you; an intern or a fresher but avoid taking the leap of faith by learning to master it yourself for the time being. Be realistic, not idealistic.
5. Your most powerful tool is your negative emotion. Use it to your advantage!
It may sound cliché, but your negative emotions can be your greatest ally. If you are somebody who understands the significance of emotions and can use them as your navigator, you will be happy every time you go through a negative emotion. It will work as anticipation of a massive movement towards your goal.
6. Pick only the battles you cannot avoid!
Your energy is the most valuable resource for you. If you overspend your energy, you will not have anything left for the things that truly matter.. Avoid getting caught up in social situations that aren’t urgent, engaging in endless conversations that don’t add value, or diving into unnecessary conflicts. Focus on what’s important and leave the rest aside.

7. Your target audience perceives your service exactly the way you do!
The confidence you project about your product or service is directly mirrored by your audience. If you’re under confident and unclear, they will be too. Regularly ask yourself ‘Am I confident about the product/service that I am offering?’. The answer will work as your guidance.
8. Prefer instinct over logic while hiring!
In the initial months, trust your instincts when hiring. Look for enthusiasm more than experience. This will help build a stronger support system.
9. Re-hiring and re-training is tougher than you imagine. Trust the people you hire!
Adopt a training-focused mindset rather than micromanaging. Foster a peaceful working relationship with your team to ensure longevity and reduce the need for rehiring.
10. Energy spent thinking thoughts = Energy spent performing tasks!
Whether you believe it or not, the amount of energy spent thinking thoughts is equivalent to the energy spent taking action. As an entrepreneur, being mindful of where you spend your energy is crucial. Set specific intervals for both strategic thinking and execution so that neither activity is neglected.
Hope these tips help! I’ll soon be expanding each of these into full-length blogs, diving deeper into every aspect. Stay tuned!
