Forests: One of North America's Most Precious Resources

Having just returned from the fourth Canada/US Forest Health & Innovation Summit in Ottawa over the weekend, I'm pumped not only about the importance and value of forests to the peoples of our two countries but encouraged by the dedication and commitment of those who've dedicated their lives to stewarding them. It has been an honor for the U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities to serve as convener of these summits from their genesis in 2012 and to have the respective "Chiefs" of the Canadian Forest Service and US Forest Service as co-sponsors. As I returned to what appears to be an early spring (redbuds blooming and daffodils everywhere), another effort that we at the Endowment have joined alongside a wide spectrum of the greater forestry sector just released the second in a series of animations about the importance of forests. The North American Forest Partnership, a coalition of more than 110 entities committed to sound forest management and conservation, shared "Different Forests; Diverse Outcomes." Take just three minutes to view this and I think you too will be #forestproud
