NDMC aims for 100% solar energy adaptation
Following the Delhi Assembly elections, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) held its first council meeting, unveiling major initiatives aimed at improving civic infrastructure and promoting sustainability. Key among them is the goal of achieving 100% solar energy adoption by 2026, providing subsidies and installing solar panels on rooftops. Other significant measures include night sweeping, rainwater harvesting, anti-encroachment drives, and comprehensive CCTV surveillance across the NDMC area.

India’s tourism sector witnessed a strong resurgence in 2023, with foreign tourist arrivals rising by 124% to 1.92 crore. Key destinations included Delhi, Goa, Kerala, and Rajasthan. Government initiatives like ‘Swadesh Darshan’, ‘PRASHAD’, e-Visa expansion to 167 countries, and promotional campaigns such as Dekho Apna Desh boosted international tourism. With a focus on infrastructure, thematic tourism, and sustainable growth, India is rapidly emerging as a leading global travel destination.
FSSAI steps up surveillance on dairy analogues during festive season
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has launched a nationwide surveillance drive in March to monitor dairy analogue products, especially during the festive season when demand for dairy items surges. The initiative aims to prevent mislabelling, adulteration, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.

Airtel, Jio team up with Starlink to boost high-speed internet in India
India’s internet landscape is on the brink of a significant transformation with the anticipated entry of SpaceX’s Starlink. Reliance subsidiary Jio Platforms and Bharti Airtel have signed agreements with SpaceX to introduce Starlink’s high-speed satellite internet services in the country. However, the service’s availability to Indian consumers remains contingent on SpaceX obtaining the required regulatory approvals.
