FORECASTING called for blizzard conditions this morning so I plan to work remotely rather than commute to work.

Whether the PREDICTION is correct or not it helps us be prepared for likely, possible, or plausible outcomes.

FORECASTING cannot replace the meaningful action. If the meaningful action (CHANGE) is not occurring the FORECAST looks dim:
