Ford Motor Company was awarded five stars for Procurement in the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR) Corporate Inclusion Index? (CII). The HACR CII is a corporate accountability survey that assesses companies’ Hispanic inclusion efforts across a broad range of areas within their corporate structures.

Thanks to the continued efforts of Ford Supplier Diversity & Inclusion, the company has earned five stars in the Procurement area for the fourth year in a row – the highest ranking in the index.

What began in 1968 as an inner-city supplier development program grew into the Ford Supplier Diversity & Inclusion program. Officially created in 1978, it is one of the first supplier diversity programs in the U.S. and has served as a catalyst for opportunity, advancing minority-owned businesses and contributing to suppliers’ local economies for decades.

HACR’s report highlights and recognizes Ford’s steadfast efforts to create opportunity and foster the advancement and economic success of minority-owned businesses through capacity-building programs and conscious procurement practices.

In 2021, Ford purchased more than $7 billion from minority-owned suppliers, including over $1 billion from women-owned businesses. To date, the company has sourced more than $170 billion in goods and services from diverse-owned businesses in the U.S.
