Ford Otosan Craiova ?? "We already have orders for the Transit Courier produced in Craiova!"

Ford Otosan started production of the Tourneo and Transit Courier in October 2023, and this month the cars began to be delivered to customers in the local market.

Unlike the old Courier generation, the new one has migrated to the compact light commercial segment, with a payload between 680 kg and 845 kg, space for two Europallets and a total space of 2.9 cubic meters for the Transit Courier.

"There are already over 120-130 orders for Courier, 80% for Transit Courier. Dealers are motivated to promote the car and are already in talks for smaller or larger fleets. The machine is a very good one for companies that need distribution or telecom companies that use such machines and have the previous model. Along with the dimensions of the new generation, the target also increases", said Roxana Cap?t?, managing director at Ford Romania Services.

Designed jointly by the Ford Otosan and Ford teams, developed and produced by Ford Otosan, the new models of the Courier range join the Ford Puma model on the production line and will also feature fully electric versions, which will be produced at the Craiova plant in 2024.

"The car was designed by Ford and Ford Otosan teams from Dunton - UK, Koln - Germany and Istanbul - Turkey. The new Courier comes straight as a vehicle designed from the ground up to be equipped with both internal combustion engines and electric motor and battery and in addition shares a number of components with Puma," explained Jon Buttress, Chief Program Engineer of Ford Pro, the company's commercial vehicle division.
