Ford Was Born on the Track. We’re Still Racing Ahead.
On October 10, 1901, Henry Ford rode onto a horse-racing circuit in a two-cylinder-engine car with spark plugs fashioned by a local dentist. Waiting for him was racing pioneer and champion Alexander Winton, considered unbeatable. Confident in his engineering and the team behind him, Ford pursued Winton around the racetrack, staking not just his reputation but the future of his business on a victory. Ford’s racer, which clocked 72 mph in its preliminary tests, left Winton in the dust. Motorsports have been at the heart of our company ever since.
Today, 122 years later, we’re still committed to excellence, on and off the track. There’s no better way to learn and test new automotive technologies than to push them to the max. Winning requires precision, teamwork, and perfection. The innovations our engineers develop to help us win also lead to building better vehicles for our customers. Put another way: what starts on the track may very well end up in your driveway.
That was our mindset when we built the GT40 that took on Europe’s finest and won the first-ever American victory at Le Mans. It’s what powers us to take the starting line at everything from grassroots tracks to the world’s biggest stages. It’s what drives us when our teams take home championships in NASCAR or Formula Drift. It inspires us to test our engineering in the highest-intensity off-road environments – like racing Raptor at the Dakar Rally or Bronco at the Baja 1000, or designing the ultimate truck to charge up Pikes Peak. My goal is to build Ford into the Porsche of off-road, and we’re well along the way.
Around the world, people are racing Ford Mustangs. Just last weekend, the Ford Multimatic team won first and third places at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, with the Mustang GT3 proving once again why no one should ever bet against Ford engineering and determination.?
We’re also gearing up for a very exciting return to Formula 1 in 2026 in a partnership with Oracle Red Bull Racing. Ford has a long and storied history at F1, and we’re about to write the next chapter with some of the most powerful engines ever to grace an F1 car. By doing so, we'll also learn new ways to make our next-generation passenger and commercial vehicles even more aerodynamic, more efficient, and better performing. As F1 welcomes a new generation of fans, they’re going to see what Ford can do – and why they can trust us to deliver the joy and thrill of driving in their own vehicles.?

Ultimately, Ford’s commitment to motorsports is all about automotive performance. As we kick off the 2025 Ford Performance season this week, I’m really excited about how Ford teams and vehicles are going to inspire our fans. We’re going to keep drawing on that energy to build a thriving motorsports business while unlocking the full power of our storied brand.??
We’re going to work hard, because that’s what we do at 福特 . But it’s not only about winning It’s also about the love of driving.
I like to say that we don’t make shampoo. We create products that give our customers the freedom to choose how they drive, both on and off road, that are full of passion, and that include and latest in digital and tech integration.? That’s why Ford is #1 in gas-powered, #2 in electric, and #3 in hybrid in the United States. It’s why we’re going to keep pushing our products to the limit – so we can improve our customers’ lives.?
That work begins on the track and in the dirt. Time to “go like hell!”

1 个月Great perspective, and far deeper than Ricky Bobby, “if you ain’t first, you’re last.” It’s always having a winning mindset that’s the starting point for design, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, sales, and service to push everyone to the top of the podium.
