For the second consecutive year, Forbes has recognized Lindauer in the top 25 of its list of America's 150 Best Executive Recruiting Firms. Based on input from recruiters, hiring managers, and candidates, Lindauer's inclusion in this list is a reflection of the trust our nonprofit colleagues place in us as their executive search partner.
Thank you for this honor.
When hiring for a new position without any precedent in your organization, there are a few special considerations to keep in mind and put into practice:
- Define the role and the expectations. The job description will largely depend on whether the person who steps into this role will build a program or augment existing functions.?
- Socialize the role internally. Identify key stakeholders and communicate with them early and often about the purpose of the new position and how it fits into the organizational structure.
- Consider non-traditional candidates. While you may have specific criteria in mind, be open to candidates who might expand the boundaries of what's possible in this inaugural role.?
- Provide structure but be flexible. Once your new hire arrives, give them plenty of support while welcoming the initiative they'll take in shaping the new role.?
Lindauer Vice President and Managing Director Faith Montgomery recently contributed an article to the Giving Institute's website about how organizations can position themselves and their new hires for success when recruiting for inaugural roles.?
We partner with mission-driven organizations to find the leaders who will propel their causes forward. These outstanding professionals are poised to make a profound impact in their new roles.
