Star Networker!
"I have been a member of the BNI Magnum - Ayrshire Chapter of BNI since September 2018. Over the years BNI has helped to grow my business significantly and saw me through the tough times of Covid.
The weekly Zoom meetings gave me an anchor, as we at Anderson MacDonald continued to manage the stresses of our clients. We supported them by making their furlough claims free of charge and helping them navigate the grant claims for the self-employed, as well as keeping on top of the usual compliance. Having come through this we have a more resilient team, and the support from BNI was invaluable.
As well as giving and receiving referrals, BNI has given me as a business owner, a great support network and the confidence to get out there and promote my business."
Fiona McMurray FMAAT , Owner of Anderson MacDonald Accountants.

Fiona is this month's star networker, currently 7th in the traffic lights. Fiona has been a consistent support to the other members of her chapter for 6 years. Fiona manages the accounts of many of the region's members and has built a strong reputation thanks to the excellent service Anderson MacDonalds Accountants offers. Fiona always has a smile on her face, and she generously gives her time to others who need advice and guidance.
Thank you Fiona for everything you do!
Funding for Glasgow SMEs Who Want to Go Green
Do you have some great ideas on how to improve your business’s carbon footprint, but finances are creating a barrier? Then take a look at the Glasgow City Council Green Business Grant.
The grant aims to help businesses in Glasgow address both the cost of living and climate crises through measures such as energy efficiency, renewables, active travel and waste management.
The Green Business Grant is a non-repayable grant of up to £10,000, which will cover up to 50% of the total cost of a project. Projects can include anything that helps businesses reduce their energy bills and make progress toward achieving net zero carbon emissions.
The grant will close to new applications on 20 December 2024 or when the budget is fully allocated, whichever is earlier.
Scotland West generated £735,086 in July!
Sure, the rotten weather has been a bit of a bummer, but at least we’ve been less distracted from our businesses this summer! Evidenced by a fantastic amount of business passed between our members.
