Football Dad to Weekend Innovator: My Mini Hackathon Adventure

This weekend started the same as many others — fulfilling my favourite role as a dad. Saturday morning was all about taking my son to his football match, cheering him on as he did his thing on the pitch. These moments remind me why I work so hard and stay curious. After some quality time, I shifted gears into my personal passions: DJing and music production. Spinning tracks and creating new sounds always recharges my creative energy.

But this weekend had an extra twist. I decided to dive into a mini hackathon — let’s call it the Mr C Hackathon. Picture this: a personal sprint fuelled by coffee, creativity, and a stack of my favourite AI tools. The goal? To see just how fast I could bring an idea to life.

The Result: Smart Stories Beta https://ideas.ucanfindmeonline.com/

One of the ideas I explored was a dream for product managers and business analysts alike: Smart Stories. Imagine giving a system the concept of the app you’re building, and it spits out:

  • Detailed user stories
  • Clear acceptance criteria
  • Well-thought-out non-functional requirements (NFRs)
  • Even test cases!

And to top it off, everything could be linked directly to Jira , Rally or Trello. Sounds like a productivity game-changer, right? Well, I built an MVP this weekend. It’s still basic, not everything works perfectly yet, but the core basic functionality is there. The process of bringing this idea to life was nothing short of exhilarating.

Lessons Learned and Next Steps

While building the MVP, I realized just how transformative AI tools can be for accelerating the product development process. The possibilities are endless — and so is the fun of experimenting with them.

The next steps? Gather feedback. If you’re a product manager, business analyst, or just someone curious about tech, I’d love your thoughts:

  • What features would make a tool like this indispensable?
  • What integrations or capabilities would you want to see next?

Favourite AI Tools

I couldn’t have done this without some of my go-to tools:

  • Replit Replit for coding and prototyping.
  • Bolt @bolt.new for fast deployment.
  • HeyGen for creating engaging videos.
  • Suno for turning ideas into incredible audio experiences.

Balancing Passion and Purpose

For me, this weekend was a reminder that even amidst daily responsibilities, there’s always time to pursue what excites you. Whether it’s cheering on your kids, mixing beats, or turning ideas into reality with a few clicks, every moment is an opportunity to create and connect.

If you’re curious about the AI tools I used or the process behind this MVP, leave a comment — I’d be happy to share. Here’s to a weekend well spent and the adventures ahead!
