A Fool-Proof 2 Step Process To Create Better Facebook Ads...

I was kind of surprised that this worked...
Honestly, I'm a big test freak. ?? I like to test anything and everything. When a client asks me "Will this work?", my first answer is always "Let's test it." So, I'm always trying to break things and make things happen and watching what happens.
If you're doing any type of marketing or advertising at all, you know that you need to put your scientisthat on and test the heck out of everything. This is why copying someone else’s campaigns almost never works. What works for other businesses might not work for yours. What worked 6 months ago might not work 6 months from now.
With this in mind, I launched an experiment. I wanted to see how "viral" I could go with my ads. By "viral" I mean ads that get thousands of shares and likes. Ads that don't look like ads... because honestly, they aren't. They're helpful posts that (check this out) help people on the spot.
Everyone is obsessed with call to actions. I just added a couple of links to a client's webinar on a really, helpful post...
What happened next was kind of shocking...
The post went completely viral. No kidding. Hundreds of thousands of comments and shares. People loved it. Most said they didn't realize it was an ad (that's where you know you're onto something). Stuff like "this should go in the textbooks of advertising," etc…
And yeah, that little call to action to a webinar got a freaking ton of hits, and the cost per lead plummeted.
"Meh... it could just be a fluke... let's try that again"...
So, I created another similar ad. Same results, if not better. The main point here is that we were extremely helpful to readers with in our ad copy while leveraging the power of Facebook to run ads (but not the way everyone else is doing it).
I'm not saying this to brag; I just wanted to share with you the formula on how to craft these types of posts. Again, don't just copy and paste it, adapt it to your business, to your voice and style, because it freaking works.
So here it goes:
Step 1: The content.
I mentioned it needs to be excellent content. I mean... really good content. You cannot leave this to luck or fate. You need to write a small blog post on your ads (some of these ads are 1500-2000 words long).
I know I lost 75% of people at this step. That's fine. We don't want people that are not willing to put in the work to learn the formula, so let's keep going...
We want the content to be actionable. On the spot. You don't need to spill all the beans. But for that specific mechanism you're trying to explain, don't leave anything behind.
Step 2: The image.
We're using Facebook. So, you need to be aware of what images work the best. For example, I used an image of my client just hanging out with his wife. There were some specific cues in the image though that you need to be aware of.
The people in the image are having fun, relaxed. But they're also well dressed. They look like they are out on a date or something, and he has a nice car. So, the image sums it all up.
Images on Facebook are powerful. You need to make them as aspirational as possible. Reflect the benefits that your product/service will provide to your customer... and avoid stock photos.
Step 3: The ad.
Then it comes to promote your post. It doesn't matter how good it is, we all know that Facebook organic reach is as low as ever. So, what you want to do is to throw some dollars behind it.
An easy way of doing this is to do Step 1 and Step 2 in your Facebook page and then just boost that post to your desired audience. That's the easiest way to do it...
However, what I did was grab that post and run Conversion and Engagement ads simultaneously. That gave me some great social proof, but also helped me with the conversion (we had a call to action at the end of the day).
There you have it! This is the formula to create amazing ads that go viral.
If you enjoyed this post, make sure you show them to others.
