(Foodics-online and MakanE) product improvement, what can they do?


Before talking about improvements, this is a brief about the two companies, Foodics online and MakanE are digital transformation enablers for restaurants, they provide stand-alone websites for clients to be able to generate orders online, without being part of delivery apps like #Careem or #Talabat, the service comes with or without ready integrations that include payment solutions and delivery services, so it is easy to set up and kick-off.

Note: There is a lot of differences between the two companies, what is written above is from a customer point of view, things related to the orders generation mainly.

So, here are my thoughts for the two companies to offer more improved services:-?

What if Foodics online and MakanE start thinking about consumers to support their clients? keep in mind that the direct and indirect competitor for online ordering is very customer-centric, providing a very enhanced seamless experience.

Today, several service providers focus on "selling without commissions" on their marketing call, It might seem persuasive at first but it won't be compelling without users on top of the package, those who own a valuable user list deserve the cut per order, they are a selling channel, not a technology provider, easy peasy, increase my orders and take your percentage, it will be attractive for merchants no matter how much risk they take.

On the other hand, Foodics and MakanE are technology providers. The merchant's team has the responsibility to attract consumers, generate orders and manage the visibility from A-Z, So, what can Foodics and MakanE do to overcome some of the challenges and increase the merchant's ROI?



Important thoughts, Why do I use Careem or Talabat?

The most essential advantages are:?

  1. Easy Ordering Journey?
  2. Seamless payment
  3. Always logged, it is real :)

While most people think that these apps provide a rich list of restaurants, I think what makes these more attractive is how easy your order decision and process can be. The purchase decision is very fast because there are no obstacles or settings required, whatever the restaurant you order from.

With this approach, people need to set up their profile for each restaurant, the setup starts with the registration and does not end with the payment methods or address, the problem extends to people’s trust in the technology itself for each restaurant to use their cards, the result is a non-fast purchasing decision.

What can Foodics and MakanE do?

Let's discuss UX that can be provided in this case, (Login by MakanE or Foodics), In order to overcome the challenge, one credential for all websites (for each group) can be accepted, the company has to manage such profile on behalf of its clients, where the user can take a fast purchasing decision without any blocker or difficulty once knowing that this website is a MakanE group or Foodics.

like google account for all Google services, Simply, an account for all MakanE or Foodics websites, this account for fast login, contain the address and payment cards, so that, the end-user doesn't need to set up for each website, even for the first time.

you can imagine that this profile is not just for login, it’s a safe and trust payment method for retention usage on the level of service, not just for single website retention, address list, and more.

On the other hand, merchants can benefit from such shared profiles for segmentation, elite programs, blacklisting, and more.

The product must be totally independent of the e-commerce websites, even as a database. This is enough as a high-level overview, it is not the space to bother you in technical details and the whole solution design, but for those who love to talk about products, I will be happy to discuss more my thoughts about the best approach to implement such a product and going to market strategy.

For those who have quick analyzing sense, yes it is true, I am talking about a totally new Fin-Tech service these companies can provide for e-commerce business out of their group after a while.

Agree with you if the user's need is only to reach restaurants to order, but Talabat and Careem now they focus on helping users in taking the decision and finding the best offers.

eCommerce on mobile apps is more effective on this SCENARIO and many other scenarios. Not forgetting to mention that customer behavior is changing where 86% of the network minutes are through mobile apps. On the other hand, the login process on apps are much easier if done via mobile number and OTP.
