Foodbanks - more than McDonald's

I have just returned from our latest fooDResolution drop, this time at the Salvation Army branch in Basildon, Essex.
Every time we do this I learn more and more about the plight of people who have no choice but to use foodbanks to feed themselves and their families.
My eyes were opened this time as it as the first drop we have done (this time I was helped by my youngest son, Will) whilst the foodbank was actually open. I saw people crying as they registered for the first time. I saw people bring bags of washing as the foodbank also provides a laundry service, and I saw people eating hot meals before they collected their goods to take home with them. They also have shower facilities on site.
I also saw at least six or seven volunteers helping to run the foodbank. Without people like these none of it would happen.
One of them told me that there are now more foodbanks than McDonald's. That's an amazing and sad fact.
So, we now have 20 dispute resolution related businesses signed up as supporters of fooDResolution across the UK. That's great, but there are hundreds if not thousands who could contribute. If you see this and you aren't involved yet, please get involved. Email me at [email protected]. It's such an easy thing to get involved in and every single tin of food, toothbrush, sanitary towel, nappy and positive piece of PR can make a huge difference to the lives of thousands of people in this country. Please help show we all believe there is #noplaceforhunger.
